  1. You should turn the lights off no matter what. Bettas need to rest at night as well, and it will give the babies a chance to rest too. Leaving lights on too long can cause bad algae growth.

  2. Remove the male (if you haven't already) and then you can safely turn the lights out at night.

  3. would you like to have a bright light shining down on you 24 7?

  4. if its been three days..then remove the male..usually the eggs hatch in 48 hours and the male should be removed then....and ye then you can turn off the lights..dark periods are good for fish..

  5. turn it off at night

    fish need sleep too!

  6. You can leave a small nightlight, but if you leave the light on for 24 hours you will get a huge amount of algae growth.

Fish need light off time too, even if they cant close their eyes and take a nap^^

and yes, make sure you do remove the male as the person who got here before me said.

he has done his job give him a high five and put him back in his tank

  7. less light will put less stress on your fish as they are adapting to their new environment - you should turn your light off at night as a general rule so the fish have a day/night cycle like they would in nature

  8. All fish need a predictable light pattern to reduce stress.  Nighttime, I think, is the best time to turn off the tank light.  Not all night but, say you go to bed at 9:30 every night.  That'd be the best time to turn it off and the sunlight from the morning will be the next light they see.  Then turning the light on at 10 AM would be ample "night time" for the little guys.
