Should i upgrade my standard coax cable for hdtv?

I have dish network, just upgraded to hd service (have hdtv), and was wandering if I should upgrade my coax cables to rg11 coax cable. any thoughts or suggestions?

  1. I did that with my Comcast cable since my apartment is so far off the road and they string the cable through the complexes attic. So I went up there and replaced it with the RG11 cable that I bought.   Did it improve the picture and sound? I think so. Since they say the further the cable is from the main box the weaker the signal will be.


  2. Unless you have a REALLY long drop length (hundreds of feet), RG-6 should be fine, assuming that's what DISH used. It's highy unlikely that you'll see any difference at under 100 feet. Don't waste your money.
