  1. I wouldn't cuz tampons are disgusting... my cousin used it once when she went swimming and that thing looked and she said felt disgusting... soo if u want to feel disgusting then go right ahead but i recommend just to wait for you cycle to end and then go in!

  2. When I started, I was so mad because we were planning to go to a school thing where we had to stay at a hotel and all of my friends would be swimming like non-stop. My mom told me I should consider tampons and it was like the best thing I ever did lol. I almost never wear pads anymore. Just be sure that right after you're done swimming you change it because it won't work for long after because it absorbs some of the water or something lol.

    --cate :)

  3. use a tampon

  4. It is normal for your period to be irregular unto you get into a "normal" cycle so don't worry about that. Go ahead and use a tampon when you are swimming (the lightest aborbancey, like light days, or regular) when you are not swimming use a pad, or also when u aren't swimming alternate pad and tampon use, until your cycle is regular and u figure out what works best for you :)

  5. Use a tampon babe

  6. u should use one and not just give up something that you like to do  :)

  7. Use a tampon you can't even feel it in you. Also it is very normal, it you had a schedule already THAT'S when it wouldn't be normal.

  8. definetly use a tampon. and yes, it should be random for 2-3 years

  9. yes and it is normal to be random u may never be regular i'm still not after like 2 years

the tampon does not soak up if it did they wouldnt sell trust me

  10. You should definately use a tampon. Your period shouldnt stop you from doing what you want. They dont hurt, and they can allow you to swim easily. Not to worry!

    Hope this Helps!

    :)))))

A star for you!!!!! * (im the one who marked it interesting!!)

    pls give me best answer

  11. it's normal when your period first starts for it to not be on schedule. it will take several months for it to get on schedule. i would use a tampon if i were you...you never know, it may start right before or after you get out of the pool. it's better to be prepared.

don't miss out on swimming just b/c of your period. and take some ibuprofen with you when you go to your swiimming club in case you get cramps.

  12. When you first start, it will be hard to predict. Especially because you are an athlete.

I would have a tampon on hand for swimming.

  13. use a tampon. I would go(:

  14. yea use a tampon.

their easy to get in, but hard to take out.

don't think ur gonna put it in too far.

    its not possible.

i know it seems SUPER hard, but one you get it, you'll be like,

THAT WASN'T HARD AT ALL, WHAT WAS I THINKING

  15. When you first start your period, it is completely normal for it to be irregular.  It's also a common misconception that every woman gets their period every 4 weeks.  Each woman is different.  A "regular" period comes at the same interval all the time (every 5 weeks, every 3.5 weeks, etc.), not on the same day each month.

Yes, you should keep swimming!  Sometimes your period can make you feel lousy and exercise can help relieve that.  You can use a tampon if you'd like.  It shouldn't hurt at all and it won't change your body.  Start with the type that say "slim fit" on the package.  It may also be easier for you to start with a plastic applicator.  Pay attention to the directions that come in the package.  I recommend wearing a tampon only when you are swimming to start.

Just remember- don't be embarrassed about having your period.  All healthy young women have it!

  16. yes, its ok that you wear a tampon, you cant wear a pad to the pool. start with light tampons then work your way up to regulars. they come light-super. just make sure to change it every 6 hours or if it is full of blood. There might be some tricks that swimmers do while on their period, as long as they are safe...look em up. but yes, tampons are ok since you just started.

  17. Your period will be irregular for up to 2 years.  If it hasn't regulated by then, see your doctor.

As for the tampons, YES, where a tampon and go swimming.  They are comfortable and fairly easy to place.  I know I have answered other questions where I have told people how to do it.

Here's a perk to swimming on your period.  Cardio activity helps with cramps.  In high school I swear I ran 2 days a month.

  18. Aww  i wouldnt stop trainig hun.. sure wear a tampon . water makes it slow down anyways .

  19. nah cuz then its gunna get soaked up with water

  20. Don't use a tampon if you are not menstruating.

And if you are like me you wont bleed much in water. So if you are on your period and you want to swim use a regular tampon. Till you know more about your flow. Also do not keep a tampon in for more than a few hours.

You could also talk to your coach and if that is uncomfortable have your Mom talk to them. So that you can use the bathroom more frequently.

Also the swimming or any exercising for that matter... really helps with the cramps.

    Good Luck.

  21. It is normal for it to be random to begin with. Some women are never regular. I would suggest using a tampon, but make sure to change them often enough. ^_^  There is no reason not to swim.
