Should i use cardboard for a barrel?

I have a pneumatic spud launcher and i found a piece of cardboard tubing used to package a poster that fits a tennis ball perfectly. I installed it and tried it out but the tennis ball didn't go very far... is air leaking out of the cardboard? Is 5 feet of that cardboard tubing too long? THX!

Buy PVC pipe its cheap (like 3 bucks for alot) and doesnt leak like cardboard. BTW what are you using for a propellant for the tennis ball? that could be your problem too.

Um i wouldnt go with cardboard they expand and contract after being fired u have to wait up to 2 min between fireing, not very good.  Go to home depo with a tennis ball and buy a peice of PVC pipe for like $5 or very cheap and use that instead.  Also 5 feet is plenty.  make sure its perfectly sealed around the chamber
