  1. The main ingredient of Diovan is valsartan, an Angiotensin Receptor Blocker (ARB).  If you have "Diovan HCT", it contains a second ingredient in addition to valsartan: hydrochlorothiazide, which is a diuretic (water pill).

    Valsartan does not require much processing by the liver before it can be excreted, so "no dosage adjustment is needed in patients with mild-to-moderate liver disease".

    With your spelling, I am not sure if you have "cirrhosis" of the liver, or "sclerosis" of the liver.  Either way, the term itself does not describe the severity of your condition.  (It will help if you know your most recent blood test results, particularly bilirubin, albumin and INR levels.)

    Obviously, without knowing the severity of your liver disease, it's hard to tell if you fit in "mild-to-moderate liver disease".  To be sure, you can check with your liver specialist (hepatologist).
