Should i use fins or no fins wakeboarding?

im a preaty good wakeboarder i can grab wake jump and spin and i just want to no wich one is better to use

mostly its a personal preferance. use whatever is more comfortable to you. the fins add stability to your board, and make it easyer to cut, but if you want to spin your board flat on the water i would take them off. it also depends on the board your riding, some boards really suck without the fins. but its up to you. figure out what works best for you and go with it

dontknow is right, no board is compleatly finless. i have a pro board and its got both molded fins and detachable fins. but the pros DO use fins. next time you watch pro wakeboarding on ESPN pay attention, they will show you most of their boards and they all have fins on them

finless gives you lots of wiggle room if you dont land just right and also makes surface stuff easier. now that i've gone finless i'll never go back! BTW no board is actually finless because they all have the little molded in ones. I bet if you did look at the pros boards thats all they've got.

Fins stabelize you on your cuts. Without fins you won't be able to jump as good but your landing will be easier and then it will be harder to ride. look at Danny Harf's board (Ronix one) or Shane bonifays board or the CWB trandescence (just to name a few). those are good mediums because they are forgiving on your landing but stabelize your cuts. the middle fin is what you don't want because those make it hard to do butter slides and all the other fun surface tricks. you can do all the same surface tricks with a board with fins as you can without. boards without fins are made for learning surface tricks.

fins definately because they help you on you landings when you go big and will help you on your progressive edge

unless your a pro wakeboarder and have your tricks on the lock down.. i say use the fins

fins help you move better but no fins helps you jump the wake.
