  1. No, they are a real big hindrance for most styles, except the back stroke.

Remember that any human body, even the thinnest person you know,  is buoyant, provided you have some air in your lungs and your body position is correct. So believe and learn swimming without any floatable aid. You will gain lots of confidence when you take a big breath and do a simple frontal float in the water, holding it for 15-30 secs and slowly breathing out through pursed lips. Then you can go on learning other simple moves from there. Try it, its fun!! Cheers!  :-))

  2. Life jackets don't make you swimmer better, instead they slow you down, and are bulky which interferes with you stroke. If you need it for safety, please use it. But ultimately it will interfere more than help the average swimmer.

  3. no it wont help using one wont get you in the proper position and wont help train stroke technique

  4. No because a life jacket would probally just make you like float and make it harder to swim. And you want to Be able to go fast rite?

  5. The life jacket will not help you swim better, it will only help you stay afloat.  Swimming with a life jacket actually can be very difficult because they are so bulky.
