Question:

Should i wait to book flights?

when i was checking prices on air canada.com yesterday, there were a few seats for 69 dollars but today the cheapest seats are 169 dollars . so this would be an additional 200 dollars since its a round trip..

i am booking tickets for late august.. if i wait some more, is there a chance that the cheap seats may return (a cancellation or something) or should i book right away before i lose the ones already available (169 is still a sale price)?????

thanks everyone

  1. Depends on where you are travelling.  I always check Westjet prices.  Their regular prices always seem to be equal to AC's sales, especially after you actually go to the screen just before booking when it shows the 'real' price.  Seems best pricing is always an airline other than AC.

  2. Don't wait any longer waiting for "cheap seats".  They're gone and ain't comming back no how, no way.  The airlines sell a few cheap seats on each flight and when they're sold that's it---gone.  Every remaining seat is going to fetch higher and higher revenue until the plane is full.  If anyone cancels that seat will be re-sold for the max they can get, not the least.

Sounds like you missed your opportunity.

I guess you can try Priceline, or Expedia or one of those, but waiting for $69 fares on that flight isn't going to happen.  Sorry.
