Should i wash these jeans in hot or cold water?

i bought two pairs of jeans, and i haven't washed them yet.

the pair of american eagle jeans that i have are tight in the waist, but i want the width of the legs to shrink...they look baggy on me.

on my other pair from abercrombie, the legs are also too big. and if i had to shrink the jeans, the waist could be shrunk just a little too. the only thing is, i got a short, and i don't want the length to shrink, because that happened to my other pair of abercrombie jeans, and it looks ridiculous when i sit down.

so how should i wash them? i want the legs on both pairs of jeans to be tighter, but some other parts of the jeans just cant be shrunk.

You could try hand washing the legs in hot water to shrink them.

If you don't want the waist shrinking cold water and don't tumble dry.

This is a tough question since you don't want the whole pair shrunk.

Why can't they just make things perfect ya know???  :)

I always wash my jeans in cold water because I didn't want them to

fade or shrink very much.
