Question:

Should i wear gloves to hand train my parakeet?

I am thinking about buying a parakeet(Named either, Peeper or minion) and i want to train it to fly around and not p**p on or bite me and i want to know if i should wear gloves ( you know like the one with the fingers exposed) E-mail me if you need more info...

  1. Absolutely not. A budgie bite is nothing compared to a parrot bite. Simply put up with the bites until the bird has settled in your home comfortably. They bite out of fear of the unknown.

    By using gloves you will not only putting more fear into this budgie but you will also have a high risk of crushing the bird. With gloves you cannot feel how hard you're holding the bird.


  2. No you dont.  I have a pair and they bite sometimes but it doesnt hurt.

  3. yes u should at least until you know they wont bite you cuz that freakin hurts!!
