Should i worry about plagiarism in the literature matrix of a research paper?

I mean the author and year are right there... and it's not the paper, just the compilation of literature...

  1. 'Stealing from one is plagiarism, stealing from many is research' Anon and opcit. Cite your sources as long as your conclusions are your own you shouldn't have a problem.


  2. Unless you are a scientist, inventor or discoverer, there is nothing you can do but to cite the source of your research. Plagiarism is a big no no when it comes to their uses and not citing your references.

    Most of the research portal I have known, strictly implements the citings of references. You can easily avoid plagiarism by rewriting your source in your own words. You can use the service from Copyscape to check possible copies of your content online.

  3. Cite everything.  If you include a chart from someone else's work, strictly as a reference, cite it and be done with it.  Make your thoughts (the body of the paper) your own, and you should be fine.
