Yes, all immigration-law violators should be permanently barred from re-entry.  And all of their assets should be seized to pay for their detention & deportation and any other expenses incurred by US citizens.

Any assets they possess should be seized and sold under forfeiture laws to recoup deportation expenses.

..And YES illegals DO pay taxes and file their taxes!! Not all of them of course.. The ones who stand in from of Home Depot and gas stations obviously work for cash.. however the ones who work with a tax ID # and receive a check (a LOT of them) do their income taxes. Don't base your opinion on the illegals who hang out on the streets waiting for work, because for every person on the street there are 50 people working an actual job for a company.

of course, but do you really think it would stop them. you can deport one of them today and by tomorrow they have come back across the border into the US. It's because they aren't scared of us. they know nothing is going to happen. Until the government actually gets off their rear and starts enforcing the laws and doing something about it,  nothings going to change. Until we force employers to STOP employing them and we stop giving them welfare and stop this "anchor babies are legal citizen c**p", stop letting their kids attend OUR public schools, etc. then they have no incentive to stop coming here and they won't.  Take away the FREE stuff, they will go home and stay.. Enforce the borders with pit bulls and put up a big electric fence (voltage equal to electric chair would work) or orders for gunfire on movement,  nothing is going to stop them. If you were going to Canada, getting free healthcare, free college education, getting paid under the table, free handouts, etc and they sent you to US, how long would you stay.. you would go right back to Canada illegally. same deal

Yes, since we're paying for their deportation (unless they have assets we can seize) they should NEVER be allowed back into this country.

I don't think so, considering the fact that all the illegals I know file and pay their taxes every year, so technically, they are helping to pay for their own deportation.  Ignorant people don't deserve an opinion.

Don't forget that not all the illegals come from Mexico.  I know of an unmanned border station between Canada and the U.S.  And don't forget all the people who came here legally, on a VISA, and couldn't get the funding to get home to get it renewed.  I know illegals from China, Vietnam, Canada, India, Pakistan, etc...even my husband who came here legally.

As of now the names and fingerprints of illegals who are deported are part of the immigration database. Everyone who sneaks back into this country and is caught again is subject to a 6 month jail sentence before being deported again.

I say as of now because all this is likely to change if Obama is elected.

What we need is hundreds of signs, in Spanish, saying trespassers will be shot.  Then, rather than build a fence, we need a guard tower every half mile or so, with a guard with a .308 scoped rifle.  Illegals will learn their lesson real quick.  I am getting sick of criminals getting off scott-free in this country.
