Should incidents like uralla be more often in the nrl?

Question

well if you watched the footy show a small town team in uralla won sbw for a day. Do you think it would be a good idea if every first grade player visited a local junior team or school at least once a year to help them and promote the game?

is should it was great that sonny bill went and did that and it would have lifted the kids spirits and promoted the game. i dont think it should be in their contracts but a few players from each club should just go out to thse places and help the kids out.

they do visit schools and communities all the time,just not to the expense that sbw went to. the nrl does a lot of work in the community with different charities and things. players give a lot of time its just so commen for them these days we don't hear of it much.

Once a year 2 Bulldogs players visit my daughters school, and they were lucky enough to have Sonny Bill visit them in one of those years.  He was the talk of the kids at the school for weeks.  It's such a great thing, and to see it on the Footy Show last night, made me think how much these footballers lift the spirits of our young kids.  The impact Sonny Bill has on kids is amazing, and it's a shame he felt he had to leave.  But for now, we're going to have to move on, make our kids know that there's life after Sonny Bill, and let them know there are more great and wonderful players in the NRL they can look up to.

Yea they already do this type of stuff. The Cowboys always go to rural aboriginal communities up in North Queensland.

Family members who live in Dubbo, regularly get Sydney players up there for coaching etc.

Definetly... It should be part of every players contract.  Or part of every clubs funding......

Teams and players have byes or weekends off due to State of origin or injury, send them out to the buish to promote the game. Probably the only thing you would give SBW a thumbs up for!!!!

They do that already with schools.
