I agree with your posters.

The government would love to gain control over the internet so that they can censor us even more.  This is like the only means for people to access uncensored news anymore.  The mainstream media is certainly coorporate contolled.  

The last thing we need is for the government to be allowed to take more control over us.  Why?  Because they are already targeting AMERICAN CITIZENS who dissent with the President.  If you don't believe me watch these videos.  These videos proves that the government is threatened by the '9/11 truth movement'.  It doesn't matter if you believe 9/11 was an inside job or not.. you have to concede that they do have a right to freedom of speech without being labeled a terrorist!

You have three options:

(1)  Allow it to be run by businesses who will charge for it.

(2)  Have government take it over.  It won't be free, either in the monetary sense (as all will pay for it, whether they use it or nor) or in the political sense (as it will be censored and controlled).

(3)  Put a law in place stating that it will be free.  Then, nobody will maintain it, and it wil fail in weeks.

NO AND NEVER

why? Whatever body, institution, organization, person/persons want to run it will abuse it. Its just like the big problem you have in the US with guns. Yes most people will use it for defense others will use it for power to rob, kill be terrorists etc... Information superhighway will be abused in the same way it already is. Don't you hear often about terrorist sites? KKK sites? Neo n**i sites? Islam sites? It should never be free and carved up for control like it is. Simply because its one of those wild cards like letting guns loose that no one can control once its out.
