  1. interstate players and teams still have victorian players,so i

cant see any problem, they all play the same game?

  2. I think the Brownlow should be awarded to the best VFL player WA has the Sandover and SA the Margery and there should be a new medal for the AFL but I have always thought that maybe it could be called the Barrassi  medal in recognition of the work he  has done for the AFL.

I wouldn't be to worried though Forky WA players have only won it 5 times since its inception.

  3. It wouldn't be fair coz like you said its national, and whatever so called state rivalries there are, you can't just cut half of the country's football players out of the running. and it wouldn't work coz if 2 vic teams are playing then there is less chance of a player getting a vote as there would b if an interstate and vic team played. And if one team plays more interstate teams than another it would b unfair coz they have a better chance of winning it. Anyway Victoria is part of Australia, so a Victorian medal is basically an Australian medal.

  4. Forky, is the AFL a better place for the competition?  Is the game stronger today because of the expansion?

Would you rather South Melbourne died completely?

What if the best Victorian player is playing outside of Vic?

You are a classic example of the kiind of elitest snobbery Victoria is known for...

  5. its named after a true VFL/AFL champ in charles brownlow. You play AFL not Interstate AFL

  6. Mate, you need to ignore the dickheads who want to abolish vic clubs, or certain vics who would have things back the old way, with only the victorian clubs playing. Everyone should embrace the national comp, but realise that the vic clubs are here to stay, too. I am an "interstater", but have supported a vic club my whole life. I love the comp the way it is, and respect that the whole thing started in Melbourne, hence the Brownlow still being the top prize.

  7. i have no idea.......weres big kev.......he shud answer it

  8. Hi Forky, Yes I agree with you about The Brownlow medal being a Victorian medal, it has history. History that should stay with the VFL.

We are in a NATIONAL COMP now, not VFL/AFL, so I believe because its a NATIONAL COMP, The AFL should change the medal to whatever!!!!.

Why the Victorian media and so called experts keep calling it VFL/AFL, its beyond me, but without the interstate clubs, there will be no VFL.

  9. How much better is the old VFL now that interstate teams are in it?

Think about it, there would probably be no VFL any more if we didn't pay millions to prop it up!

Of course we should receive the Brownlow, but it doesn't mean that much to us!

    Typical Bloody Vic!!

  10. Sure why not. Victorians can receive the Brownlow for best victorian club player and all 16 teams can receive the whatever medal for best and fairest in the AFL. I think victorians would then rather receive the latter which would make your coveted Brownlow of lesser value.

  11. forky i agree 100%

maybe award them a Fools medal to go with there supporters
