Ireland is pretty deluded on certain issues

neutrality is just one.... officially we are neutral but in reality far from it... we should drop the pretense... would we really allow an Iranian plane to refuel in Shannon

abortion... every year thousands of Irish women travel to Britain to have one... then we think we are better people because we don't allow such an act in our country

euthanasia... thousands of our people are left to rot in our country's hospices

its about time Ireland wakes up to the real world

No more than allowing allied soldiers across the border in WW2. Ireland has never been fully neutral.

well done hyper, we let allied soilders go during ww2 and held german soilders as priosners in the curragh.

So we have never sided against our biggest allies the americans.

Seen as though there are a large amount of american companies giving valuable employment to people in this country which were responsible for the economic boom then the least we can do is let planes land, for refuling purposes, being neutral means not going to war, it dosent mean we cant support our friends, had we allowed the british to use our naval ports in ww2 we would have had a united ireland as churchill was willing to offer the north back in return for the use of our ports, it did not mean we had to fight, but dev being the prick he always was said no resulting in thousands of deaths in ww2 and 3000 deaths in the troubles which would have never happened if he had said yes.
