I've noticed that it's written differently all the time, which is the correct version and why? Other common examples are Belgian chocolate, irish coffee, French kiss, brazilian coffee beans????

  1. Countries are proper names and should be capitalized, even when used as adjectives.

  2. It should be French bread.

Name of countries should be capital.

  3. French bread

  4. All proper nouns ( names) should have capital letters

People, places, days of the week, months of the year

  5. Contrary to some opinions, there is no need to capitalise adjectives derived from names of countries. Plenty of musicians play the cor anglais, but nobody plays the cor Anglais. If you don't want to capitalise "french", the grammar police won't come knocking at your french windows at the dead of night.
