  1. I think it should be illegal to NOT eat, because it will hurt babies and elderly people that need to be fed, not to mention Society itself cannot starve! We need to eat :D

  2. So you're suggesting we all kill ourselves to "save the earth"?  Ignorance hurts the environment and my brain.

  3. Web are in the food chain to but people sometimes eat stupidly large portians. andes if you dont agree with killing go veggie.

grow your own food buy organice buy locally from farm shops. get a compost loo italiano lets you use poo as a garden fertilizer andes eat raw food.

    All your probs solved.

  4. you're right...to some extent. and, yes, it is frustrating. i agree with the carbon tax. it is a lovely idea, and it doesn't mean you have to turn into a vegan, it just means eating less meat.

plants such as trees produce oxygen, and are home to animals(hence the term "tree-hugger", and yes, i am one)if we planted more orchards, and vegetables and less cattle and meats.we would do more good than bad.but remember in this life there is no black and white, only gray. i think one needs to sacrifice some for the greater good.we will never get everyone to agree to save this planet. but you can do your share to help save it. we are screwed because there's allot of greedy glutonous people out there who don't give a c**p about the environment, and unfortunately they are the majority.

reduce, reuse recycle! that goes for just about everything, except condoms.

  5. The question, itself, is a little silly, but I see the point you are trying to make.

There are a lot of things we could do or stop doing to help the environment.  And there are a lot of things that hurt the evironment that are Legal that are a little less basic to survival.

Perhaps if everyone recycles a little more, eats less meat (because actually we're only supposed to eat a few ounces of meat a day anyway!), use more environment friendly toilets, use less water to bathe, drive less, keep our thermostats down to 65 or so in the winter, purchase locally first (locally grown produce and meats) to cut down on long range deliveries, use washable things rather than disposable things, buy in bulk to reduce packaging, keep our vehicles in good repair and drive slower (55 or lower to reduce gas used) and many other things!

The sad thing is, we're only gung-ho about doing something to make a change now that a problem is immenent when we knew about the problem potential all along.

  6. This has to rank among one the most ridiculous questions I've seen on here.

  7. ok this is a stupid question. their r bigger things that r hurting the enviorment, that r easier to fix. grow up.

  8. No, it shouldn't be illegal to do anything that hurts the environment in any way.  You are correct in your "reducto ad absurdum" argument; that would mean we couldn't hardly do anything!

However, we should have policies that encourage us to switch from behavior that harms the environment to behavior that doesn't, when possible.  For example, a tax on carbon would do this.  Since meat uses more carbon in its production than vegetables, then mean would be a little bit more expensive due to the carbon tax.  This would discourage some people from eating meat and encourage them to switch to vegetables, which would make the planet better off (without killing anyone!).

  9. Stop being dumb, there's a huge difference between things like poaching and driving cars to go down the block and eating. Grow up.

  10. only some should stop.

    got a mirror?

"Should it be ILLEGAL to eat food since it hurts the environment?"

"Do Environmentalists get ANGRY when firemen have to use so much WATER to put out a fire?"

"is some village missing it's idiot?"

  11. i see what your saying

but we cant just stop eating.

    we need food..to survive.

  12. Global warming isn't about stopping you from doing things, but to give the right people control over what you do with your daily activities.

You can graze on grass and pretend tofu is a meat as these are acceptable behaviors.  Most other stuff is already considered immoral.
