Question:

Should it be a hostel or hotel?

I'm planning to stay in a hostel since it's a whole lot cheaper than staying in a hotel. But if I write this on my application form requesting for a visitors visa to Spain that I have booked my accomodations in a hostel instead of a hotel - will this affect my chances of getting the said visa???

  1. Ordinarily, should not.

Most visa consuls appreciate that you might be a bagpacking student. Just make a print-out of your pre-arranged itinerary and proof of payment or confirmation of stay, and you should be fine.

If you're American or a U.S. Permanent Resident, I don't think this would even come up. Take a bank statement with you, just in case.

  2. no it matters not , as long as you have accomodations made for yourself

you have the right to pick your own choices as to where you desire to stay :-)

  3. Write a hotel because it will give you more chances of being granted a visa since you are assumed to have better financial capability.
