Question:

Should it be said that Mormonism and Christianity is totally and completely incompatible?

Mormons believe Father, Son and Holy Ghost are 3 separate Gods.

Mormons believe God has a wife in heaven he makes spirit babies with.

Mormons believe Jesus had many wives.

Mormons believe they can become Gods over their own planets.

Mormons believe you have to obey well enough to get to God.

Mormons believe the Book of Mormon is more correct than the Bible even though the BOM tells us America was populated with Jewish American Indians.

Mormons believe that our "heavenly father" was once a man who had to obey his heavenly father in order to become God over earth.

Mormons have NEVER renounced any of their leaders who teach the above things.

So.. Is Mormonism and Christianity completely and totally incompatible and irreconcilable? What do you think?

  1. Actually just be...Everything on their list IS factual...so you need to check your resources.

  2. fundamentally yes they do not match. but not entirely for the reasons you've stated there is more to it.

  3. Mormons are Christians.....deal with it.

    As for your claims:

    No we don't

    No we don't

    No we don't

Sort of, but it's not quite that simple

We believe we can only be saved through Christ's atonement

Yes we do (however, we believe the Bible to be God's word as well).  Congratulations.  You got one right!

We believe it was PARTIALLY populated with immigrants, some of which came from Jerusalem.

Sort of, but again, over simplified.

That's not true.  Some have been renounced.

Mormons are Christians.  It's obvious you have a bone to pick with them, but that doesn't mean they are not Christians.  Sorry.

.......and try to figure out what they really do believe so you don't look this ignorant in the future.

  4. Absolutely yes.

  5. Mormonism is not Christianity,

    so they are not compatible.

  6. You are wrong.

    They are very compatible.

They are both sets of irrational, delusional beliefs!

  7. I'll let God be the judge on that one -

  8. So you know more of what Mormons believe than the Mormons do? How presumptuous.

Steven, you and I have communicated a lot about stuff like this and you STILL persist in saying we believe what we do not. I must conclude that you are a liar.

    >Mormons believe Father, Son and Holy Ghost are 3 separate Gods.<

They are three separate, distinct, individual PERSONS. They form the GODHEAD. We worship our Heavenly Father, pray to Him, in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and this thru the power of the Holy Ghost.

    >Mormons believe God has a wife in heaven he makes spirit babies with.

PROBABLY He might have a wife. And spirit BABIES? Where in the WORLD did that come from, besides the mind of Ed Decker? I mean, spirit BABIES? Do they wear those little nappies (like in the cartoon) to catch their little spirit poo poo's? Get real!

We don't presume to know how ouro Heavenly Father's "spirit CHILDREN" come from. Only that they are.

    >Mormons believe Jesus had many wives.

We do? I mean, MAYBE He was married, it's more likely that He was. But many? How many is "many"? Who were they? I mean, if we believe this, we must know who they were, and all.

    >Mormons believe they can become Gods over their own planets.<

That's a pretty simplistic way of saying that we can become as God is. Exactly how that will happen, we really don't know.

    >Mormons believe you have to obey well enough to get to God.<

Why did Jesus CONSTANTLY tell His disciples to follow my commandments, feed my sheep, etc.?

If we do what Jesus wants, it will certainly bring us closer to God, to His Holy Spirit. Lazy Christians tend to be back-sliding Christians.

    >Mormons believe the Book of Mormon is more correct than the Bible even though the BOM tells us America was populated with Jewish American Indians.<

Where does the Book of Mormon talk about "Jewish American Indians"?? I want chapter and verse.

    >Mormons believe that our "heavenly father" was once a man who had to obey his heavenly father in order to become God over earth.

What is your God like? I would tend to believe in a God who at least has some empathy with what we experience. Otherwise, we are nothing but puppets, playthings put here to amuse some bored "being" of spiritual ectoplasm, who has no more idea of love or anything else.

Isn't that part of the creeds, a God with no body parts or passions? Love is a passion. How can that god feel ANYTHING? I would hate to believe in a god like that.

    >Mormons have NEVER renounced any of their leaders who teach the above things.<

    A. NONE of our leaders have ever taught these things.

    B. We DO renounce those who say we believe these things.

Just because we aren't your particular brand of Christianity does not mean we aren't Christian. You need to be a little less ego-centric. You aren't God, nor are you His personal representative here on earth, nor does the universe revolve around you and your beliefs.

  9. I have been active in the Mormon church. Do you realize there is not one factual thing on your list? You need to check your sources - because they are sadly and stupidly misinformed.

BTW a Christian is anyone who has faith in Christ. Who are YOU to JUDGE because people don't believe the way you do? Mormons without a doubt believe in the divinity of Christ and are Christians.

  10. yes, i agree. its really too bad. there are things i like about the lds church and its people.

  11. I think it should more realistically be said that any type of christianity and reality are incompatible.

  12. Quite frankly i dont give a damnn

  13. I do not know any Mormons but if what you say is true then Mormonism is not compatible with the Christian beliefs because first of all, we do not believe in 3 Gods. There is only one. Father, son, and Holy Spirit are all the same God and not separate entities. And we are not gods nor will we ever be gods now or ever. It sounds like a cult. And spirit babies, are you joking? What is that all about? There is nothing in the bible to support any of this. Sounds like they are making a real mockery of Christianity to suit their own desires and beliefs.
