Should jogging be done every day?

I try and jog 3 miles 3 or 4 days a week - should i be doing this more often?? and also, i'm running 8 minute miles - is that about average or slower?

  1. What your doing is good. I dont see the need for running more unless you want to. Distance your running also is a good distance. 8 minutes isnt bad. Thats probably around the average for most people running the mile. Keep doing what your doing.


  2. 3-4 days of running a week is fine. for the average runner, anything more could lead to overtraining.  Are you doing it for sport or for pleasure and health?

If 15 and i Run a 6 minute mile all out an a 8 minute mile if I go jogging.  So during the season I work out everyday even if i have practice.  In the off season insted of jogging everyday I'll jog every other day and the days im not jogging i do some 100ft flat out sprints. I do this insted of jogging everyday because jogging works your endurance and sprinting works on your reaction time and quickness

  4. Thats pretty good :) I can run a mile in 8 minutes and i'm 14. If I try LOL its usually 9:00 minutes or so. And thats fine. The days you don't work on other things instead of running. Go for walks with a buddy or something.
