In my view it is cruelty to his creation.

  1. Because God didn't 'give' them these diseases.

Cancer and disabilities (whether physical or mental) are the result of genetic mutation. In the case of cancer, repeated exposure to carcinogens causes a warping of cellular DNA that causes the cells of a particular section of the body to replicate unrestrained (in other words, a tumor).

Those born with disabilities were either exposed to harmful compounds in the womb (like alcohol or the toxins from cigarettes), or just had parents that carried flawed genes (like those found in Klinefelter's Syndrome, where a child winds up with XXY chromosomes). These flawed genes manifest themselves while the fetus is growing, and lo and behold, a child is born with disabilities.

Neither have anything to do with God, and this answer applies whether you are theist, or an atheist.

  2. Consider the possibility that there may not be a God and then you see things from a different perspective.

  3. we were born with them. god didnt give them to us.

  4. What gods other than the Abrahamic god makes those claims?  Just out of curiosity.

  5. Man created God in his image and in his mind.

  6. So, you expect people to endorse your your view rather than seeking the real answer.

  7. You're not the first to think so. ;)

  8. There is an easy explanation.

    There is no god.

  9. God does not make us suffer.

We have to reap what we have sown. If God is strong in our life illness etc becomes easier to deal with. I know through experience.

If one believes in reincarnation then we do not have to understand why me. It could be because of past mistakes, this makes sense to me.

When young I came close to suicide and I have had skin and Bowel cancer and a heart valve replaced recently. I also am one of the luckiest people you could meet:)))

I have learned who I am not and where I belong and I know God knows every little one of us. How can God be cruel when Love is all there is.

  10. You people don't seem to get it:  god doesn't do those things you accuse him/her/it of.  The god created by the imagination of the earthlings is one of kindness, love and mercy and not responsible for anything else even if he/she/it does stand by and idly watch people suffer, die, be ill and get annihilated in wars and other natural or man-made disasters.  All bad things are the devil's fault that's the only reason why god created him, to take the fall

  11. No God, it's just that s**t happens!

  12. My father, was the most amazing man either I, or any one else that ever met him. Sadly however we lost him to cancer when he was only 53. It was very sudden. As a catholic Irish family I found this very difficult to deal with when there's still murderers etc running around. He'd fostered 46 kids and had us three as well. I felt it was very unfair.

I still haven't gone back to church but have realised that if there is a God he gave us our own will and sadly my Da chose to smoke. I hope you're not asking this question due to a personal situation. If you are I'll always have a chat with you. I know the anger and sadness.

  13. god does not inflict these things on anyone . we inherited death disease suffering ect because adam and eve rebelled against jehovah . remember they were warned of the outcomes of rebelion and still allowed satan to influence their judgement. each generation from their time till now has had to deal with new diseases , anguish , suffering ect so how can anyone blame god . god warned them the same way as if you or me had a child and that child wanted to eat something that was posionous wouldnt you warn your offspring that it was posionous and that it would hurt them . now if the child chose to eat whatever it was and fell sick , does that mean you or i posioned them  no because that child knew what could happen and used their free will . there is scripture that states that jehovah will put right all the things that plague us in genesis it states he will bruise you in the heal but you will bruise him in the head (meaning that satan will orchestrate christ death but christ resurrected will destroy satan) we are told that all those in the grave deserving a resurrection will be ressurected and  that even tops of mountains will overflow with grain and that the earth will become a paradise . its stated also that he (jehovah) will wipe away their tears and the wars hunger famine sufering even death will be no more so we know as a loving father jehovah will set things right even tho he did not cause the problems in the first case

  14. Well I am totally deaf and my balance is shot, I am also showing too many symptoms of MS to be comfortable with. However I love the Lord God for saving me through Jesus Christ his son.

My focus is on eternity to come, not on the rest of my life here on earth.

God will not make a believer suffer without giving that person the strength to cope with his/her problems.

I live daily acknowledging that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and Lord and am looking forward to the day that I shall see him face to face in glory.

  15. yes, because he loves you

    free will

better plan for them in afterlife

    blah blah

  16. life is life you live - you die  how that all happens is in part your responcibility, genes, wealth and luck

  17. We're Eternal Beings In Truth, whatever suffering you do you brought upon yourself and it is but a hairs breath of time in the scheme of things for an Eternal Being. No one is innocent, God believes in reincarnation, not damnation. He has offered everyone A Way out, Jesus taught us That Way, the church covered It up. Karma can be a bear. If man wasn't so stubborn it would not take such a hard lessons to learn the Truth.

  18. God doesn't put these diseases on us. Why do you blame God for these sins? If we only trust in Him completely-He will take our sicknesses and diseases away. He is waiting for people to call on Him. Can't you see that? People want to put the blame on someone or something else, so they choose to blame it all on God because He is our Creator. He didn't create us us this way, He didn't cause us to be sick - we do by our sins.

This world is sin, and if we follow the world and it's ways we are given in to sin. Jesus died for our sins, didn't you know. By His stripes we are healed. Just believe in Him, rely on Him, and trust Him.

  19. Our Precious Lord created a perfect world for us without disease of any kind - then He gave us freewill to love or reject Him.  Because without freewill there is no true love!

We chose to reject and that is where sin came in.

Our God is never cruel or unjust!  He is perfect and we have no right to question Him or His ways.  He is the creator!

  20. Snor......

  21. You have just presented us with the Problem of Evil, which has been used in Philosophy that if there is a god it is not the Christian god.  The argument goes like this.

[The Christian] god is omnibenevolent (all loving), omniscient (all knowing), and omnipotent (all powerful).

God knows of all the evil in the world (because he is omniscient.

God loves us all (because he is omnibenevolent) and does not want us to suffer from these evils.

God is capable of ending all the evil in the world, and thus end our suffering (because he is omnipotent).

God does not end our suffering.

Therefore God is lacking at least one of these attributes (omnibenevolence, omniscience, or omnipotence)

I would suggest reading some of Bertrand Russell's book "Why I Am Not A Christian" if you want to look more into this argument, and other arguments against the existence of God.

If you do read that and want more suggestions contact me and I will recommend more reading to you.

PS.  These people are right, god did not give the people the diseases, that much is true.  But God also has not taken it away from them.  You;d think a god who loves everyone, who doesn't want his people to suffer, and who is capable of doing anything, would do something to end the suffering, but god chooses not to.  That doesn't sound like a loving god to me.
