  1. It actually depends what age your kids my nice is 2 and she is taking preschool  classes every friday , so kids are responsible any time

  2. Our daughter is due to start school in September, we went to a parent evening and were told all they do is play for the first year but they are actually learning whilst doing so ie drawing-art, water play-maths, etc

  3. Play is a form of education.

  4. Kids learn from the day they are born.  Playing IS how babies and toddlers learn.

  5. I think that while kids/babies are playing they are learning at the same time. Toys often encoperate that such as shapes, numbers, colours ect... playing is a part of learning and developing. once at the age when u play games that are no longer a part of learning such as 'tag' or 'hide an seek' then you should start seperating the learning from the games.

  6. Can you specify your question ?

  7. check out Rudolph Steiner on Wikipedia

  8. i think kids should totally be allowed to be just that KIDS, there going to spend the majority of their lives learning, working and paying the bills, let them enjoy that freedom, i let my son do exactly that he´s now 12 and a great kid level headed and intelligent and shows a lot of love. LET THE KIDS PLAY

  9. play is learning.

they are learning from the moment they are born.

  10. kids can learn while playing - best of both worlds :)

  11. Play what?

  12. Of course! And they should be playing after formal learning starts. For infants and small children, playing is a type of informal learning. What looks to us like "just playing" may be teaching that child valuable lessons. For example, the wooden blocks with the letters and numbers on the side can teach the alphabet, consecutive counting, hand-eye coordination by building, fine and gross motor skills, and social/emotional skills if they invite other children to play with them. Many adults don't realize that the simplest of toys can be opening a huge doors for their child. While playing, children should be encouraged, while at the same time, being left alone to accomplish it on their own. My favorite quote is "Play is a child's work." Next time your child or a child near you is playing, observe them without them noticing and you will be able to see the learning happening before your very eyes! I hope this helps answer your question!

  13. No kids should learn either through play, subconsciously, or education. What happens to a child when they are youngg effects they're whole life. For example when Frank Lloyd Wright was a baby, his mother let him play with some special building blocks, and he slepts in a room with pictures of cathedrals and buildings on the wall, now he is one of the most famous architects of all time, thanks to what happened to him when he was young.

  14. I agree with letting them play. In the wild baby animals play fight and hunt to prepare themselves for life. I don't see why kids shouldn't play as long as they can. When i was 14 i played with my barbies for like 10 hours a day lol

  15. Sure.

But I would call 6 months a 'reasonable age to learn'.  Play time can also be learning time!

  16. i think you should combine learning and playing. you should always e learning  from the day your born to the day you die. even its just a little

  17. I second Pippin...

  18. I believe yes, but when they reach a certain age they should start to learn. Some many children grow up so fast, it's a shame. Learning through play is a much better way to let children be children.
