  1. my parents sent us to school no matter what was wrong with us.  and then if we were really sick he nurse would send us home eventually.  most the time we would get to school and forget that we didnt feel good.

  2. depends on the child. if they are "sick" alot, and when 10am rolls around and they want to play or go outside, then no, send them.

my kids used to pull that. i nipped it in the bud real quick when i made the rule of if you stay home, you stay in bed-no trampoline, no pool, no phone calls (your sick after all!) and homework has to be finished the next day regardless if "ther is too much , moooom!!"

i take their temp. now. if it is anything over normal, i let them stay home. i am also known for bringing them to school, if they start to miraclously start to feel better.

i started telling them "try to tough it out, if you start to feel bad, then you can call. the nurse at the school can check out the situtation, and if they do call, i ask the nurse what she thinks. are they wanting to come home, or do you think they need to come home. they ususally answer truthfully, and i go according to that. that is what they are there for-

when to stay home in my house:: if they were up the night before, not feeling good-puking-temperature-or my daughter when she has bad cramps the first day of her period.and sometimes earaches.

by the way-it is to the point now, my kids don't even try it anymore. so when they do ask, it is usually legit!!

  3. Mine only stay home if they're running a fever or their noses are non-stop dripping faucet.

"A little sick" is very easy to fake, and is often miraculously cured as soon as lunchtime comes....when most parents figure it's too late to bring them to school.

  4. NO sending your sick child to school makes teachers and other students sick. If your child is sick the school grounds are not the place for them. Of course if its something that isnt contagious than yeah off they go. Of course if its going to make them worse (the middle of winter and they have a cold) than maybe they should recover at home.

  5. if there sick and u can see that they r and if u take them to school they might send your child home.

  6. If you're saying a little sick as in a cold or something minor then I'd send them to school.  Obviously if they have a bad cough or fever, then they stay at home.

  7. It depends on what type of a little sick.  If they feel a little nauseous, a little dizzy, or are a little contagious, then no.  A stuffy nose, a little cough, or a little headache might be an excuse to stay home in grade school, but middle school and high school are harder to catch up with.  Now if the child has missed a day of school in months and just isn't feeling up to par, that's different let the child have a day off.  That's my opinion.  My mom lets me stay home whenever I want and then I can do whatever I want when I am home, but I catch up on my work.  Also, if it is a little sick they can go and if they get worse, then go to the nurse.

  8. no i dont, its not fair on them or the other kids at school if something other kids can catch too. what harm is a day or so off till they are feeling better

  9. It depends on the symptoms. If it's the sniffles or sneezes I say yes, the kid should still go to school. Otherwise our kids would be out of school half the time. If it's a cough, fever, vomiting, bad headache or something contagious I think the kid should stay home.

  10. Unless they have a fever, have vomited, skin rashes, or have really bad diarrhea, they go to school.

  11. no if there sick they should stay at home ,

my friends daughter sent her to school with flu and she was sick and i felt so sorry for that kid some parents are just evil

  12. depends on what kind of sick they are feeling.

  13. I doubt if they were sick that they would be able to fully concentrate/ comprehend the lectures, so I'd honestly leave it up to them if they were trustworthy, especially if they know consequences for excessive absences and poor grades.

Also, the rules at the schools here is that the kids can't leave school unless the nurse says they can and the nurse can't send them home unless they have a temperature. So if my son is having nausea and headaches with no fever, he has to stay at school. I'd rather play it safe and keep him home.
