  2. yes. if you like them. several classic recipes include mushrooms.

  3. they dont have to, and personally i dont like them to contain mushrooms.

  4. only if you like mushrooms.  I tend to enjoy them in the meat filing layer.

  5. Lasagna is the pasta. What you put in between is your business. It doesn't have to be classic or traditional; if you think it sounds good, try it!

I like mushrooms in my meat sauce, it has a certain "je ne sais quoi".

  6. in my opinion nothing should have mushrooms in! i think they are horrid. lol

  7. its not an essential ingredient but yes you can have with or with out

  8. YES i love mushrooms

  9. If everyone having the lasagna likes mushrooms, then sure.  They are not a necessity.

  10. I don't see why not, your cooking can only be limited by ones own imagination. I put what ever I want into what I'm cooking. I make a killer meat loaf, don't laugh! It is like a ground beef pot roast. In the kitchen you are in control do what you think and feel will be good 4 out of 5 times it will work. Good luck to you.

  11. sure why not? my dad adds brocolli, or other fresh veggies sometimes.

lasagna is a cool thing, you can get all food groups in one food.

    meat- ground turkey, etc.

    fruit- tomato sauce

    grain- whole lasagna noodles

dairy- low fat/ fat free ricotta and mozzarella cheese

vegetables- mushrooms, broccoli, green beans, etc.

  12. if you want to add mushrooms thats fine

  13. It can but usually only for a vegetarian lasagna...meat lasagna's don't normally have mushrooms...feel free to add them if you like!

  14. Lasagna is a pasta sheet used to separate two different sauces while cooking. The two sauces compliment each other when eaten. What is now regarded as the "traditional" lasagna has a meat sauce separated from a creamy "Bechamel"sauce. The traditional Italian meat sauce is quite smooth and is a sauce made from minced meat, rather than being a sauce with lumps of meat in it. Traditionally all the ingredients are chopped extremely fine or even grated then cooked on the hob for a very long time until smooth. Essentially it is a thick but almost smooth gravy. Carrot, celery, onion, garlic and mushroom are all used in varying quantities depending on family recipes. Wild mushrooms add a real richness and depth of flavour. Heston Blumenthal also suggests adding a little bit of star anise to enhance the meat flavour.

  15. I put mushrooms in all pasta dishes!

  16. Normally it does not - but a FANTASTIC Lasagna is to do as normal but when preparing the layers add  thinly sliced 3/4 cooked muhrooms and sliced 3/4 cooked cauliflower & sliced 3/4 cooked brocolli. on 2 of the layers - YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID!!    - A good tip also - Use the water you have boiled the cauli and brocolli and musrooms in - top it up and cook the lasagna sheets in also - gives a slightly veggie taste to the lasagna sheets -- This is how the GREAT Italian chefs make a meat and veg Lasagna.

  17. The italian lasagna doesn't have mushrooms in it, but when doing a vegetarian version i do put mushrooms and anything i fancy really..

  18. depends on your mood and taste
