Should men act masculine all the time?

Like not crying, do strong jobs and carry very heavy things?

Not knowing how to cry, not knowing how to deal with and express emotions, to ask for help when they need it,  is the reason so many men shoot up college campuses and shopping malls.

If that's what masculinity means, you can keep it.  Gender role stereotypes hurt everyone, regardless of gender.

Men should act like whatever they want. Abiding by arbitrary gender roles because they think they "should" has never made anyone happy.

i think they should cry when they wanna cry...a lot of guys are like scared of crying. they shouldnt push themselves too hard and lift stuff thats too heavy by themselves. but yea...they should do whatever they want to do i guess

No. Men are not obliged to be masculine or feminine. They must have the right to choose.

No.  A man who is comfortable in his masculinity would not need to act masculine all the time.

Not crying has nothing to do with being masculine.  I think a man should always be masculine, but he should have a sensative side.  Since women are more emotional, I don't expect him to cry as much as me, but if he feels the need to cry, I wouldn't subtract from his masculinity.

a man should know how he is helpful to others. same with a women. each should have their individual strengths and weeknesses. hopefully you can carry heavin things, thats always nice.

If they do, they are probably repressing their true feelings.  It's ok for guys to cry!  If they can't lift heavy things, they shouldn't even try, they could always pay someone else to do it.

It's funny, but when the men you know cry, it's a very unsettling experience, but it's interesting, as a female, to see they experience similar emotions to women. I think men present the self that they think society will accept, but it's healthier if they express their sensitive side, as well.

As long as you are responsible, its not of anyones business if you act manly or not.

However, dont expect people to feel pity on you. Your emotions are yours, not anybody elses.
