  1. Pedro was a disappointment from the time the Mets signed him.  Everyone knew he wouldn't pitch a full season on any of his contract years.  Why do you think the Sox walked away when the Mets added more years.

  2. I don't know if you axe the pitching coach, but I'd say keep Wagner and overhaul the BP.  Omar is the one who gets fired for tossing all prospects out the window and managing the team into the ground.  Pedro's best days were in Boston and it's time for him to call it a career.

  3. Omar Minaya is a start.

  4. The one guy that you want to keep is an old closer who has blown 7 saves this year.  Blame the GM who didn't upgrade the team and relied on injury prone and just sub-par players.

  5. two times in one year wow no i don't thing so maybe at the end of the season.

  6. Heilman needs to be shot in the arm.

I don't mind the rest of the bullpen.. although they're a little "feast or famine" in my opinion. If you recall the Mets did set the MLB record for least amount of Hits Allowed in a 5 game span this season.. so obviously the talent is there. It's just a matter of consistency,

Pedro isn't the Pedro of old.. but all in all.. when healthy.. I'd say he's still an above average pitcher compared to the rest of the league.. especially in the #5 role.

I like Omar as a GM overall. Every GM will make a trade in time looks stupid (Scott Kazmir anyone?).. but overall.. the level of talent on the team has increased with Omar in control.

I do suppose another pitching coach should be looked for.. since Santana and Maine are in the middle of "off" years with the current coaches.

  7. A. They did fire Rick Peterson. He was their pitching coach to start the season.

    B. Wagner is no better than the rest of the bullpen. I'm a big fan of his, but he's got just as much blame as the rest. He's blown too many saves.

    C. Should the management finally get some pitching? Remember signing Pedro? How about picking up Wagner? They also got Oliver Perez and John Maine in trades. How about the biggest one, Johan Santana? They've always signed pitchers.

    D. Yes, Pedro's been a disappointment. Time for him to be on thin ice.
