  1. yeah he only needs 2 more medals to become the person with the most medals ever

  2. Yes otherwise the US will have no one to depend on for gold medals and end up 5th...

  3. No.  Anyone who swims faster than me should be banned from the Olympics. That will give me a good shot at the Gold medal.

  4. If he wants to compete that's his choice and as far as him leavin on top he already is he is an olympic champion can't get any higher than that and he will always be a champion

  5. Yes he should be in the next Olympics, and he will most likely be there if he's still able to compete.

It's a nice idea to go out on top, but that's a fairytale ending. True champions live to compete, and they understand that they can be on top of the world one day, and be defeated the next. They don't allow potential defeat to scare them away from competing.

Michael Phelps will probably do everything in his power to be prepared for the next Olympics, and I'm sure that he already knows that it would be highly unlikely for him to win 8 gold medals again. He would probably be the first to congratulate anyone who did beat him.

There's no shame even if he competed and never won another gold medal. He's a great champion, and nothing will ever take that away from him.

  6. he would only be 28 of course he should

  7. Yes! =)

  8. He already said he's going to tryout again, and if he qualifies he will be in London.  But he won't be qualifying in as many event as he did in Beijing.

Just to clarify that last sentence, I'm not saying he can't qualify for 8 events, be he said that he won't even try to qualify for all 8 events again.  He'll probably go for 5.

  9. He has a title to defend. So why not!  Just think that he'll be 4 years older and maybe a tad bit slower in England,

  10. duhhhhh

  11. yes he should go.. if he wants to go

  12. yeah i think hes only going to do individual races

  13. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES
