* unless they were overturned in the new testament.

If we followed all OT laws, our day to day lives could be very different.

  1. Christ came not to condemn the Law but fulfill it.

  2. There are principles that are in the Old Testament that are the same today, but not the commands as they were under a different law.  In Matthew 28:18 and following, Christ has been given all authority in Heaven and on earth. He has set up a different law in which it is His blood that is the sacrifice instead of all the animals which could never take away sins, but only roll them forward.

Galatians was written to show how Christ is better than Judaism and Hebrews was written to show the superiority of Christ over the Old Law.  This includes garments.

  3. Today if we followed all the "OT" laws, the  Torah of YHVH, we would be His people and He would be our God. We would be living in His Kingdom under His authority and rule, it would be a perfect way of life.

Psa 19:7  The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

James 1:25  But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Mat 6:10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Ezek 11:19  "And I shall give them one heart, and shall put a new spirit within them. And I shall take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh,

Ezek 11:20  that they may walk in My statutes and keep My ordinances, and do them. Then they will be My people, and I shall be their God.

Micah 4:2  And many nations will come and say, "Come and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD And to the house of the God of Jacob, That He may teach us about His ways And that we may walk in His paths." For from Zion will go forth the law, Even the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Ezek 20:11  "And I gave them My statutes and informed them of My ordinances, by which, if a man observes them, he will live.

Ezek 20:19  'I am the LORD your God; walk in My statutes, and keep My ordinances, and observe them.

Ezek 20:20  'And sanctify My sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the LORD your God.'

Ezek 36:27  "And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.

Ezek 36:28  "And you will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers; so you will be My people, and I will be your God.

Ezek 37:24  "And My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances, and keep My statutes, and observe them.

Ezek 44:23  "Moreover, they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

Ezek 44:24  "And in a dispute they shall take their stand to judge; they shall judge it according to My ordinances. They shall also keep My laws and My statutes in all My appointed feasts, and sanctify My sabbaths.

Psa 119:33  Teach me, O LORD, the way of Thy statutes, And I shall observe it to the end.

Psa 119:34  Give me understanding, that I may observe Thy law, And keep it with all my heart.

Psa 119:35  Make me walk in the path of Thy commandments, For I delight in it.

Deu 30:11  "For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. ...

Deu 30:14  "But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it. ...

The same faith of the OT the New Testament is preaching:

Rom 10:8  But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"-- that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,

  4. The shellfish and mixed fabric garments argument is very lame.

It is a Jewish law, for Jews, not Gentiles.

Some of the OT wisdom is timeless, however.

  5. Christians are not a party to the old covenant; they are party to the new covenant.

    The old covenant ended.

    .

  6. no, they absolutely should not.

  7. Hello, there were only 10 found in Exodus 20...the rest are the "Laws of Moses". Some are specific to the Priesthood ONLY.  The sons of Levi/Aaron.  Others were for ceremonial worship.  Jesus Added one To Love one another. John 15:17, John 4:23, is the way to worship Him.

  8. See, the powerheads found they were losing their followers with such insanely strict scriptures.  They had no other choice but to rewrite God, make him kind and gentle and loving.  They threw in Jesus to solidify God and there we have it.  Christianity.

  9. The Old Testament is properly called the Hebrew Scriptures.

Peter & Paul had this discussion, as recorded in Acts 10.

All Jewish laws were part of G*D's Covenant with the Jews.

Christians are not bound by them, except to refrain from drinking blood,

& eating meat offerred to idols, in order to prevent scandal.
