Harlequins Guinness Premiership clash against London Wasps attracted more than 76,000 paying spectators back in December – clear evidence that interest in the sport is there. Two other matches have also played at HQ this season: back on the opening weekend of the season, 67,000 people turned out to watch Saracens v London Irish and Wasps v Quins.
More matches should be hosted at the national stadium to generate more money; but does playing it at a neutral venue take away some of the magic?
