There's only two kickers in the hall (George Blanda & Lou Groza) and no punters. They probably don't see the field as often as other positions but their signifcance is crucial. Punters decide field position for the opposing team and Kickers do the same and also score points.

They're important especially in clutch situations when teams need their punters to pin the ball far from their territory and kickers to tied and/or win games.

Ray Guy should be in the Hall. He played for the Raiders (1973-1986) and was vital in their SB wins (1976, 1980, 1983).

- Played in 207 consecutive games

- Punted 1,049 times for 44,493 yards, averaging 42.4 yards per punt, with a 33.8 net yards average

- Had 210 punts inside the 20 yard line (not counting his first 3 seasons, when the NFL did not keep track of this stat), with just 128 touchbacks

- Led the NFL in punting three times

- Had a streak of 619 consecutive punts before having one blocked

- Has a record of 111 career punts in post season games

- Had five punts of over 60 yards during the 1981 season

- Never had a punt returned for a touchdown

When Adam Vinatieri is eligible for the Hall, he should be in there.

- He scored the tying points and game-winning field goals against the Oakland Raiders in 2001 AFC Divisional Playoff Game. If he didn't kick the game tying field goal, Tom Brady wouldn't have won 3 rings, Bill Belichieck wouldn't be regarded as the best coach, and Jon Gruden wouldn't have been fired as Raiders coach. His kicks led to the Patriots dynasties and the Raiders slump.

- He made the game-winning wins in 2 of the 3 SB's.

- Made 5 Super Bowl appearances

If he didn't kick the game tying field goal, Tom Brady wouldn't have won 3 rings, Bill Belichieck wouldn't be regarded as the best coach, and Jon Gruden wouldn't have been fired as Raiders coach. His kicks led to the Patriots dynasties and the Raiders slump.

I doubt they were the only kickers/punters that are worthy for the Hall.

What do you think,

Which the Hall place more kickers and punters in Hall of Fame?

  1. Yes and perfect example is Adam Vinateri. He has 4 superbowl wins.

The 3 with the Patriots were all won by 3 points per game ...so that tells you something. Maybe he should of been MVP lol.

    So Kickers yes.

Punters yeah but I don't have an example of any.

P.S. I thought George Blanda was a QB cause i thought I saw his name as a guy with 1 of the most Interceptions or something.

  2. yeah I think its a joke. Groza and Blanda are only in because they were lineman/ quarterback.

Mark Moseley, Adam Vinatieri and Jason Elam come to mind as deserving HOF kickers, and Jeff Feagles and Shane Lechler for the punters.

  3. i think that the hall should have the best of every position not only just the ones making or stoping touchdowns after all kickers make the most points and win clutch games.

  4. Matt Bahr. the greatest TACKLING Kicker, of ALL TIME.

  5. No, only Vinatieri, because of the magnitude of his kicks. Sammy Baugh punted, along with playing quarterback, and is in the Hall.

  6. Yes, depending on standards though like Vinatieri for example and punters do deserve better considerations as well, their position's pretty underrated.

  7. ray guy was who i was gonna say tht should b in, i cant think of any other kickers/punters tht deserve to b in there

  8. adam venterai, and the punter on the giants..jeff feagles? ecause hes the oldest punter and has lots of records
