  1. Yes she should be. I would try yogurt or fruit juices if she wont eat anything else but there is a big variety so give her some choices. Bananas, grapes, apples, oranges, etc. It is unlikely that she wont find one that she likes. Also gerber makes a gummy snack that is very soft so there is no way she would choke on it and I think they are made with real fruit, maybe try that. Otherwise just sneak it in. Add some small fruit to her cereal or mix it in with some snacks.

  2. its not a problem obviously we do need fruit and veg but not everyone likes it just try to dress it up in different ways

  3. Try the kidology approach. You sit down on the floor and take something like honeydew melon slices and eat away at them. Don't offer her any and don't forget to do the "mmmm"'s (remember the scene from when Harry met Sally?). Her curiosity will get the better of her. When she comes looking for some, try to resist giving in first time, she'll want it much more if she has to fight for it, pretend you don't want to share. Worked with my kids and my gran's technique of pinching your nose and shovelling it in never worked with anyone!

  4. What fruit have you tried - just "fruit" is pretty vague, there are hundreds of different sorts and most people like some but not others.

And yes, she should be eating fruit - or twice as much vegetable.

  5. Yes she should.  Fruits and veggies should be eaten daily.

  6. as long as she eats lots of veg, then it's not a problem.

Have you tried mixing some pureed fruit into a fromage frais? This worked for my daughter. You can always start with a tiny bit mixed in and gradually add more.

Yes yes and yes, unless she has allergies to fruit.

  8. yes i think she should

    try her with vegetables?

  9. try feeding her small pieces of soft fruit, such as strawberries, grapes, peaches, but make sure you cut them up really small, that way she can suck the fruit and not chew it, because it's soft. hope i helped

  10. If she eats plenty of vegetables then it's not so important, but I would keep trying with the fruit. You definitely want to get her to eat at least some fruits if at all possible. Some ideas:

Mix puree or small pieces into yoghurt or custard (but I wouldn't go adding sugar to it!)

Try making fun shapes - if you slice an apple across the core you get some pieces with stars in the middle, or make a funny face on her plate with different pieces of fruit.

If she will eat little sandwiches, try making banana ones.

Add pureed apple or mashed banana to porridge for breakfast - a little at a time for her to get used to the taste.

eat a banana in front of her, make a show of how yummy it is - offer her a bite..go nah, you don't want it - it's mummys yummy banana.. pretend she's not allowed & then "give in" & let her bite it

Puree fruits & freeze in those 'make your own iceblock' moulds

Be patient, don't stress about it, and don't push her too hard. Remember that it can take kids 10 - 20 times of tasting something to get a taste for it. Good Luck :)

  11. Yes she does need fruit, keep trying different fruits and don't give up as it may take months for her to like it. When my daughter was younger I used to get an apple and prepare it in front of her and try some myself, then she nearly always wanted what mummy was eating - she may only have taken one bite - but I praised her effort and didn't get cross with her (and I got to eat the apple so it didn't get wasted).  I just kept on persevering and now she eats about half an apple cut up into small bite size slices. So patience wins in the end. Good luck.

  12. Yes she should be eating a balanced meals , fruit, vegetable, protein, carbohydrates. Try introducing her to sweet fruits like banana, apples, grapes (cut in small  pieces). I bet she will like them in no time! Also small children's tastes change often so keep exposing her to new foods.

  13. I started mine out on banana beginner food at 4 months.

I pity your poor baby, they learn to like their food better if started at a younger age.

  14. Mix it with yogurt. My cousin goes crazy over that, and she isn't too happy with having to eat fruit.

Or you could try stewing it.

Like others have said, as long as she's getting plenty of veg she'll be fine, but everybody needs fruit, no matter what age.

  15. Just keep trying. Its a battle to get my 10 yr old to eat it..

  16. have you tried her with stewed fruit?  She might like that.  Try apples/pears/plum, with some sugar and water, and cook gently until soft.  At 13 months old, she should be eating whatever you eat

  17. My little boy was the same so a friend suggested buying a product by Munchkin. Its a bit hard to explain what it is without seeing it but i will try! It looks like a teether but has a net which you put a bit of fruit in and then clamp it shut. This way the baby get all the juice and goodness by chewing on it like they would their toys! It also give independence to the child a they can do it themselves without choking. I managed to get mine from sainsburys but try typing munchkin into google and see what it comes up with. Good luck!

  18. She needs to eat fruit. Babies are usually picky when it comes to new things. All you can do is keep trying. even if she doesn't like something today...she may love it tomorrow and the other way around, so just keep trying.

  19. try her with brightly coloured fruits, or sweet tasting fruits. if she really doesny like them, you cant really force her, let her see you eating it or call it big girl sweets or something like that to get her interest. im really lucky, my daughter loves fruit, i tried her with chocolate once and she didnt like it, she is 12 mos.

  20. Keep offering her fruit. Young children often take awhile to get used to a new food and it can take 16 or more tries (on separate occasions). Offer a range of fruit (eg apple, pear, banana, watermelon, strawberry, peach, blueberry, mandarin, grapes) regularly, but don't force her to eat it.

  21. make it juice and give with more sugar
