Should my Pigeon egg have two dark patches one at top, one at bottom?

Well i have rescued this little egg when it's mum abandoned it, and i have been incubating it for three days now. And i need to know is it supposed to have two dark patches at the top and bottom of the egg? I think the egg is dead because we left it in the nest for 10-12 hours so we could give the mum a chance to come back, but she didn't because my cat attacked her :( But i am going to give the egg the benefit of the doubt.

So please answer this question x

  1. All the pigeon eggs that I have seen (use to have quite a few of different kinds but just have 2 racers now) was solid white.  If the patches have developed since you rescued the egg, it has probably started rotting.  A pigeon will leave the nest for short periods to eat.  I don't know about pigeons in the wild but pigeons in captivity, both the male and female will take turns sitting on the nest. It takes about 14 days for them to hatch.  But more than likely since the egg got cold, it will not hatch.

  2. 1. put the egg in a nest under the pigeon.

    2. if you see that the mother pigeon don't go on th egg so the egg is dead

beacuse i has pigeons but    now they are dead.

    3. so if you don't see the mother pigeon on the egg i think its a dead egg, because pigeons know what are they don't doing.

    yours Sarah,

    GOOD LUCK>>>>
