1. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but  You should just leave him alone. He can do whatever he plans to do. Its a hard thing. My Aunt joined the army and I didn't want her to leave and begged her to stay ,but she said its ok Ill be ok. I have to do what I have to do. I then realize its not my choice, its hers. She does whatever she wants and to fight for our country is great. Shes courageous, I just have to support and pray for her everyday. You should Do the same to your Boyfriend. God Bless Him.=)

  2. You just said he joined..and I doubt it is up you ...Your not enlisting he is..

How about we support those who make these tough decisions and not make their lives more difficult or make them feel guilty.

  3. Not much you can do to talk him out of it. Just stand by him and be strong.

  4. Most likely he just graduated from HS and two will be broken up right after he comes home from boot camp and gets his last minute nookie before she ships off to station!

  5. If he has actually JOINED UP... then the Government doesn't really CARE what YOU want... he is now cannon fodder and will soon be enjoying the sights and sounds of beautiful Afghanistan.. or Iraq.. take your choice.

He may or may not come in one piece.. my grandson left both of his LEGS in Afghanistan.

  6. My son joined the Army Infantry last year at 26. He has been in Paktika Province since April. It scares me, but he loves it.

  7. If he joined already then he cant pull out now. Once your in your in. The best thing you can do now is support him in his desicion or you might lose a good man. Most ppl think that they are going to get shipped right to Iraq when they get out of basic but that usually doesn't happen.

  8. You should join the Marines as well... xx

  9. Just keep in mind... you won't see him while he's in boot camp, and boot camp is made to break down and recreate people, so he could become different from the person you're used to.

It's a tricky question to answer because we do need people in our military but we never want it to be our people, y'know? It's really your decision to make. I guess you should do your research and see exactly what he's getting into.
