Should my budgie have the operation?

i have a budgie who i luv n i've had most of my life and shes 10yrs old or a bit older..shes had a tumour thats been drained many times but now she has a hugee tail gland thats bleeding n she seems to be in so much pain, i dont want her to die, my dad told me the vet said it would cost $250 to have it removed ,he thinks its better not to have it n prolong her life but i kno shes in pain,,im scared that she'll die but i dont kno if the operation will kill her because shes small n old, What do i do!?

  1. the most painless way to do is puther to sleep so she can be at peace and rest. sorry


  2. It is a sad fact but you don't want her to suffer anymore.  If she is in pain and old the best thing would be to put her to sleep.  I know that it will make you sad but I know you don't want her to be in pain.

    The surgery coudl kill her and definitely would stress her out.

    I wish there was a better answer.

  3. She is old for a parakeet, and in pain. Do the right thing and give her peace.

    Most pets do die before we do, it's just the way it is. I think you will be sad for a little while but happy in the long run that you did what needed to be done.

  4. You need to be strong and stop being selfish here.  The animal is in pain and agony.  She has lived a long good life.  While it's very hard, it not fair to keep her in pain like this.  Put her to sleep.  It's the humane thing to do.
