Should my clothing style match my taste in music?

My friends say to me that i'm a bit weird 'cause my clothing style doesn't match my taste in music. I like brands like Henleys, Nike, Adidas, McKenzie, but I don't like all the hip-hop/rap music that is associated with these brands, especially McKenzie which is seen as very chavy. I listen to bands like RHCP, U2, Metallica, Megadeth, Arctic Monkeys, all Metal, Indie, Rock really. Does this seem weird or wrong to anybody at all?

  1. As long as your favorite band isn't Barenaked ladies.

  2. people stereotype, they always will.i like elvis but i don't have me hair like his.don't conform be who you want to be!

  3. Chavs follow trends, so basically they only like something because everyone else does. So they look like twats and listen to shite music. ie wear designer clothing and listen to rap

Whereas a rocker, metalhead etc couldn't give a **** so wear anything and listen to good music, because they aren't being dictated to by their mates.

So yes dude, burn all your chav rags get yourself some baggy jeans and a few rock / metal shirts, job done.

  4. I don't think so.  I like such a wide variety of music that I would end up looking rather strange if I tried to mimic my tastes in music.  I like rock, metal, opera, classical and funk.  What the heck would I wear, LOL!

  5. I think it'd surprise a lot of people but what you wear doesn't have to show what you listen to! Just because you wish to listen to kids in glass houses doesn't mean you have to dress emo or because you listen to marilyn manson your not a goth! Wear whatever you want and don't let people try and make you change!
