Question:

Should my girlfriend go seek medical attention for a shoulder injury?

Last night my girlfriend was in a hurry and was running across a smooth tile floor (like those you see in schools). The bottom of her pants slipped underneath her shoe and she slipped and fell hard on her shoulder. Later in the night, she was complaining of pain when she moved her arm too much or tried to lift anything. Today she is complaining of the pain being worse and being constant (hurting even without her moving her arm). There is no appearant brusing that I can see and nothing feels out of place (as far as the structure of the shoulder bones go). Does this injury require steady doses of ibuprofen, ice and rest; or should she go see a doctor and have x-rays done? The reason I am asking is because she doesn't have medical insurance, and because she is my girlfriend and not my wife, she won't be covered under mine. Thanks for your help.

  1. yes get medical attention i was playing soccer and slammed my shoulder in the goal poast and the nerves actually got stuck in my shoulder socket and it was so deep i had to get surgery

  2. going to the doctor and having x rays done will ease worries. They will also tell her how to treat her injury. I would say put a ice pack on it to reduce any inflammation and she could take advil or tylenol as directed.
