The real estate looks really affordable there right now... and the jobs are plentiful for him there... he's a food and beverage director.

  1. Just make sure he has a job lined up before you do. A lot of the casinos will do a telephone interview for people who do not live here. I will warn you though that the job market is real tight right now. For every job opening there are 100 applicants. The real estate market is affordable because the mortgage industry isn't giving out mortgages unless you are prime canidates. Just warning you ahead of time.

Do not worry about idiots who answer your question like the first guy. They do it all the time. Keep your cool.

  2. h***s to the yea! I just came back from las vegas and saw some houses from family members they were the best and really cheap. It's awsome there even if you wust walk around las vegas bvld. and of course CRISS ANGEL lives there how awsome huh?

  3. sure if you think you really like it there, then why not live there? if you think it would be a great place for you two, why not? hope i helped...

  4. I have been here almost 40 years, married to the same man.

Jobs are questionable because of the economy.  Several big constructions (condo, mall, casino) are on hold.  Casinos are laying off except for the soon to open Aliante (North Las Vegas) and Encore.  The County and State have frozen all jobs.

Houses may be cheaper right now but you don't want to move unless you have a guaranteed job!

  5. no he is married.if you go it could be in danger

  6. I lived in Las Vegas for 3 years playing in the shows and was married the whole time.  My daughter was even BORN in las Vegas... Sunrise Memorial Hospt.  If your husband is going to stray... he is going to stray any where... he doesn't need Las Vegas as an excuse

This may seem strange, but there are THOUSANDS of NORMAL PEOPLE with NORMAL MARRIAGES in Las Vegas and Environs.  It's a great place to live but I don't think it's a great place to raise a family and that is why we left before my daughter was old enough to start school.

  7. I used to live in Vegas.  It is hard to get into a strip casino without knowing someone already employed there first.  Vegas tends to be very nepotistic.  The cost of living is high compared to other places in the country.  Do you have kids?  The public schools aren't the greatest, my kids attended private schools while we lived there. On the subject of kids, there isn't a lot for kids to do.  When someone asks my 10-year-old son what the best thing about living in Vegas was, his answer was "being 4hrs from L.A.".

Vegas has a lot of foreclosures, you can probably get a deal.  If you are childless, then a Vegas move may not be that bad.  When house hunting stick to Summerlin, Green Valley, and Aliante in that order.  If you have kids, do yourself a favor and don't move to Vegas!!!

  8. Married and lonely in Rhode Island???? Not making sense.

Las Vegas the minimum low wage town!

Avoid Adecco the temp. service place. Screwed up my paychecks to many times. PS it was a group time sheet! Faxed in at same time each week. Beyond my control!

Ask yourself what about the water? Lake Mead is shrinking!!!! Main source of water supply for Las Vegas, NV.

To me when I lived in Las Vegas, NV for 3 years. It was so SUPERFICIAL! Fake town USA.

Dbl check for job openings prior to leaving!

    www.lvrj.com has employment listings.

  9. If you can afford the property and you can get work go for it. Its just like any other city with temptations your the one at home with only the gardner for company.. ha ha

  10. Yes, give it a try.  We moved here a yr and a half ago.  Better half making lots of $$ until the jobs dry up, Journeyman Wireman.  Link has lots of great info.  Good luck..

  11. As long as he has a job before you go.  I don't like Vegas anymore due to the increased traffic, but if I were going to move there, I would move to a newer area and check out the schools if I had children.  I don't think your marriage would be in anymore trouble there than it would be anyplace where he is a food and beverage director.  If you have a good marriage now, it should stay that way, if you don't Las Vegas won't save it.

  12. I don't think your marriage would be in more danger because you live in Las Vegas. The way I see it is if he's going to cheat, he can just as easily cheat anywhere he lives. If the housing and job situation looks good, I'd go for it. Las Vegas is a lot of fun!
