Question:

Should my husband wear a suit?

A friend of mine is getting married today at 5:30 p.m. on a golf course (ceremony will be outside and reception indoors). The invitation does not state anything about formal attire. Should my husband wear a suit? I checked the weather and it's going to be 88 degrees with 36% humidity.

  1. Absolutely wear a suit.  It is a sign respect that you took occasion seriously enough to dress appropriately for their event.  He could at least carry the jacket and not wear it if it is that hot out.  Don't let him be the guy who the couple will always talk about who was dressed inappropriately and is in all of their pictures.  We had a few of those at our wedding.

  2. Wear the pants, shirt, and tie, but no jacket. I would think it's a little hot for that, and it's an outside ceremony, making it a little less formal. But, maybe take the jacket in the car with you, and if you see all of the other men are wearing one, put it on. LOL   8) Have fun!!

Edit -- Don't call the bride and ask her as some suggested! She has better things to do right now than talk to you about what your husband should wear!

  3. yes - he can always lose the jacket

  4. it is your husband's prerogative, let him decide what is best for him, you just make a suggestion if he likes it, good, but if not, let him be what he is... this will add your marriage life expectancy more assuring and harmonious... its a give and take.

  5. ;-c  "HECK N0Oo`'e'`~!!! Unless  you want him to pass out in all that sun!?!  & who says he just has to have on a suit!?!.  For instance: I'll bet even people in Hawaii wears stuff like BERMUDA SHORTS atleast sometimes !?! lol " THE ((STAR)) we know of better as OUR sun is NO joke !! [be safe`bout it]G/L~!!  rRr

  6. yes its your wedding and you should wear white

its your special day you need to stand out and look speical

  7. No he does not have too, just wear nice khakis, a dress shirt and tie..

  8. If it were my hubby going, I'd have him wear a suit (with or without tie).  If he is too hot outside, he can always take off the jacket.

  9. shirt and tie but no jacket.

  10. Call them and ask @_@

  11. It's a wedding.  At the very least he should wear the suit and take off the jacket.  If it's outside and ridiculously hot, I don't think anyone would think less of him if he took the jacket off.

  12. I agree shirt and tie but no jacket...thats what my boyfriend wore to the last wedding we went to.  And just about every male had a tie on.

  13. Yes. It's better to be overdressed than underdressed.

  14. have your husband wear a suit and at the reception take the jacket off.

  15. why don't u ask?

  16. Yes.  It's always better to be a bit over-dressed than to be under-dressed.  He can always take off his jacket and loosen (or even take off) his tie.

  17. I don t think so !!!

    Casual Clothes is perfect!!!

  18. A suit is appropriate.  He might be more comfortable wearing khakis with a blazer and shirt and tie.

  19. He can wear the shirt and pants, but not the jacket. Maybe even tie will be optional.

  20. Why don't you call and ask them what's the dress code?

  21. shirt and tie with dress pants but no jacket

  22. maybe a jacket and trousers with an open collared shirt? :)

  23. maybe just a shirt and a tie it might be a little hot for a jacket

  24. I would go and buy a nice pair of shorts, with a very nice short-sleeve shirt to go with it.

  25. He should wear a light coloured suit, and if it's hot he can slip his jacket off.  Golf course weddings tend to be more formal.

And please don't take the advice of some others and call the bride to ask - it's her wedding day, she probably has more important things to deal with at this point. :)

  26. Yes he should wear a suit. I think it is a formal affair       a wedding usually is unless they get married on the beach or something and still ppl will wear suits even then. yep get dressed up in the monkey suit buddy!

  27. I think just nice slacks and a dress shirt would be totally appropriate
