Question:

Should my new home based business be bonded?

Ok, i understand a little about being bonded as a business, i'm just not sure that my business should be bonded. My fiance and I are starting a business from home where we will take other people's bills and get them paid and mailed on time. We're not expecting it to get big or make us millions, but we know of some family who could use help getting some stuff done on time, so we thought we would start there. We're not using our money to pay the bills, what they'll do is gather their bills, calculate what is owed and give us the bills and a check with the fees of service included, then we'll make sure everything is taken care of after that.

Do you think we should be bonded? If so, how do we go about doing that. I've already gotten and EIN number from the IRS.

Please no rude comments, i know how some people are on here.

Thanks for your help in advance!

  1. Absolutely you should be bonded if you are handling other ppl's money and personal info.  Ask your local Chamber of Commerce about a commercial bonding company.  And don't stop there go to www.prepaidlegal.com/hub/caringhand0  and click on Identity Theft Protection and also on Small Business for more information.
