Should my parents be mad about this car accident?

Alright well I was driving home from school and there is a curvy road and there was a guy that was on my side of the yellow line and if I would of stayed going straight I would of hit him. I decided to try to avoid him and go to the right... I ended up hitting some gravel, skidding out, and having my car hit a tree in the passenger side. The door needs to be replaced along with one other panels. I think it should cost around $2,500 total. It was not my fault though and my parents are still incredibly pis.ed, I think this is kind of unfair. The cop told me if the tree stump that i hit had not of been there I probably would of been dead. I feel lucky to be alive but my parents haven't even said I am glad that you are alright or anything. I feel kind of hated and sad in a way that my parents are treating me this way. What do you think? Do they have a reason to be mad and what is the best way to deal with this situation? Thanks everyone.

Stay safe

  1. Parents are like that. Go up to them and ask them what they would do?

  2. LORD HAVE MERCY....

  3. i understand why they are angry, but its not THAT big of a deal, they should be still grateful that you are ok.

You should of probably stopped and waited for him to pass..

it doesnt matter though.. accidents happen

  4. no they should not be upset and probably are not it has just scared them and most parents do not want their children to see they also have fears they love you very much and are thankful just scared of what could have happen

  5. YOUR PARENTS ARE UPSET BECAUSE YOU SCARED THEM TO DEATH,THERE CHILD HAD AN ACCIDENT,SO THEY ARE PROBABLY UPSET TO HIDE THERE TRUE FEELINGS,GIVE IT A FEW DAYS AFTER THEY CALM DOWN AND THEN YOU SHOULD GET YOUR THANK GOODNESS YOUR ALL RIGHT..AND YOU DID DAMAGE THE CAR AND THERE INSURANCE WILL PROBABLY GO UP,AND YOU MIGHT WANT TO SEE IF YOU CAN HELP PAY  FOR THE DAMAGES???,AND HOPE YOU LEARNED TO BE MORE CAUTIOUS NEXT TIME...

  6. Yes they should be mad and or upset and they have every right to be.

At this point they are thinking of what could have happen to you and you need to give them time.

You need to try and understand their situation and talk about it because one day you will be in the same situation.
