Should my tax code change now that I'm married?

My tax code is 527L, just wondering if it should have changed now that I am married, and do I need to contact the local tax office to inform them?

  1. No you keep the same amount of personal allowance. the old married person allowance was abolished long ago  


  2. No it will not change, there used to be a basic married mans allowance, but it was removed some time back,another stealth tax !

  3. not unless you were born before 1929 or something.

  4. No, sorry the days of your wife's income being counted as yours have long gone.

  5. No and no.  There used to be such a thing as married persons tax allowance but it's now a one size fits all thing.
