  1. Check with your local law enforcement on the code and level and if it really gets bad call them by all means.. I to get tired of hearing my neighbors rap music at times. It can get load enough to shake my windows. So double pane will not help. You do have rights...

  2. It is an arrestable offense in some city ordinances.

  3. it's worth checking into...i know rap music should be punishable by law.

  4. Yes it should.  I dont think people realise just how badly noise can affect your health and your well being.

There is a lady I know of who works nights and the lads two doors down are forever revving the cars they work on with the radio blaring loudly all day long.

No consideration whatsoever - but until someone starts pointing out that noise is actually anti social in this overcrowded world - people arent going to take it on board.

  5. Peace and respect to you for asking this, yes many cars and motor bikes hurt my ears because they are illegal and they have modified exhaust systems and therefore, many vehicles should not even be on the road.

A vehicle is considered illegal if it gives too much noise. There are strict requirements for it to pass it's MOT. If, after passing it's MOT, the owner decides to 'modify' the exhaust, that person could be breaking the law if it exceeds the reqd decibel allowance. The owners should be pulled and fined by the police.

  6. Yes!!

  7. I dont think so.  Thing like listening to rap are the listeners choice.

  8. rather than wanting to have peopel arrested why not get some double glazing???

  9. No, what pierces my eardrums are the sirens on emergency vehicles.

That would be too slippery a slope to make noise pollution and arrestable offense, bc people would then start accusing emergency vehicles of noise pollution.. then they'd either have to lower their volume (to the detriment of their efficiency) or be accused of double standards.

I think it is best to leave things as they are, where certain kinds of noise pollution are fine-able offenses at certain times of the day.

For the rest of the offensive noises we encounter, it's best to deal with them on an individual basis.  For me, when a firetruck or ambulance is passing by from behind, I slow down and pull over, and that affords me the opportunity to stick my fingers in my ears until they've passed.

  10. No it shouldn't be .... Noise ordinances have too much of a gray area and you shouldn't even be able to get a citation let alone arrested. It is completely up to the officer what THEY consider "pollution". If a harley blasts down the road at midnight that is okay, if a car drive by with they radio blaring they may be ticketed.. it is B.S. and give the cops to much leeway and allows them to become a street corner judge and jury

  11. I dont think it is anything that could be enforced. If your neighbour is playing loud music all the time then maybe!! but not car traffic
