They rarely make just one or two trips. Should business owners have the right to charge more?

  1. This is a tough one. Although I am inclined to say that this is discriminatory.

Just because you are obese does NOT necesarilly mean toy will be eating a lot. I have some 100 lb friends who eat for about 6 people. So, you really cannot judge by ones weight...

  2. Boy, it sure seems right................doesn't it.........

But then, perhaps the small eaters like me offset them????

  3. I am obese and I like to eat, but I like quality. I don't even like some buffets that much.

Should picky people pay more when they get an item and decide they don't like it

  4. If they advertise the buffet as "all you can eat," then no, they don't have the right to charge larger customers more. that's very cruel. besides, some tiny people eat A LOT more at buffets then the bigger ones!

  5. No, of course not ... "All You Can Eat" means just that.

Don't worry about the business owners losing money on those who take advantage ... they aren't losing money.  You probably never noticed, but food buffets are set up in a way that is designed to SAVE money.  Ever notice that, if you follow the typical traffic-pattern at a buffet, you encounter the less-expensive items (soup, salad, vegetables, potatoes) BEFORE you get to the pricier ones (meat and other "main course" items)?  That's not by accident.

Also, most of us DO head for the soup, then salad, before we hit up the heavier stuff, and therefore don't eat as much of the higher-cost items.

Sure, there are some who head straight for the fried chicken and prime rib and eat several heaping plates of each, but those are few.

  6. No, people like me who eat very little balance it out.

  7. No. not at all. because then you must learn where to draw the line at obese. Besides, you go into sizzler, and order the salad bar "What size pants do you where sir/ma'am?" "Ummmm size 10?" "HOw old are you?" "20." "Well your fat, pay me more!"

Good night. That would be mean and cruel and...

  8. No.  I make about 7 trips.  I don't fill the plate up or anything, but I do make a lot of trips.  I'm just a weirdo who doesn't like my food to touch!

My brother is skinny as a rail and he can pack away enough food for a small country to eat for a month.  You'd be amazed at what a 6'2", 175lb guy can consume.  We call him the human garbage disposal...  No matter how much food you make at home, there is mysteriously never any left overs.  He is notorious for stealing people's plates when they're done.

I don't think the buffet needs to worry about the obese people as much as they need to keep their eye on the skinny wiry bottomless pits!!!

  9. No.  They're taking a chance with the "all you can eat" line.

Besides, a person's size has nothing to do with how much they can eat....my brother is 6 inches taller than me, and weighs about 30 pounds less than me, and he eats a butt-load more than I do!  The buffet would make a lot more money on me than they would on him.

  10. Um.. what an ***.  A buffet is all you can eat so they can eat whatever they want furthermore people who are obese dont always eat a lot most people who are heavy are conscious of what they eat in public.

  11. Only if that was stipulated before the big people came to the buffett. If it's all you can eat don't blame a man for having the capacity to take advantage of it. Just go eat what you want and stay g*y.

  12. i think that would CLEARLY be discrimination!! just because you are obese doesnt mean you eat a lot.. really, at buffets, i notice the obese ppl dont eat as much because they know that ppl can see them and are sub consciencly thinkin "i bet they will make 7 or 8 trips up there." and just cause someone is thin doesnt mean they dont eat a lot... like me... im not fat or anything, im of completely normal weight (5'0, 120 lbs) but i eat like a horse, especially at a buffet.

  13. The cost is figured by averaging. Simply, cost of X amount of food per day divided by Y number of people that buy per day. So those of you who only make one trip to the buffet because you don't want to feel like you are taking advantage of the store owner are just shorting yourself. It's ALL YOU CAN EAT. If you leave hungry, your loss. I would also say that larger people usually don't gorge themselves at a buffet. But they may be able to eat more.

  14. hehehe it would be nice, but if a thin person or a person with a smaller appetite is smart, they will avoid the buffet because they are paying for the fat people- basically. Ah, the lawsuits that would eventuate! Some fattie just the other day sued a buffet for refusing him after he regularly came in and ate all their food one too many times. The restaurant won, I think... Come to find out a restaurant can throw anyone out for no reason at all.

  15. No. Obese people should not have to pay double. I understand that some of them go and get about five plates of food apposed to the general two. However, some people (like my girlfriend who I love no matter what she looks like) are obese because of slow metabolism not simply from eating. Honestly, I see some 'normal' sized people getting three and four plates, therefore it would not be fair to charge every single obese person double just because they are obese. It would be like charging teenagers double for condoms just because they were teenagers etc.

Also, you can't say 'they' its not like obese people are all exactly the same.
