  1. Never

    Keep yer dosh

  2. no,for what? you pay a tip for service.do you tip when you order a pie of pizza for pick up?places like that have people other then there wait staff to take the orders for pick up and have it ready for you...

  3. If they give me a drink while I wait or are extra accomodating and pleasant towards me, I do.  I always do at places like Outback, where they bring your food to your car for you and you know the person is just doing to-go orders that night.  If it's a bar where they are just throwing food in a bag for me and nothing else, I'd say you don't have to.  But it's always a nice thing to do, especially if you go there a lot and want to build a good relationship with the service staff.

  4. Yes, tip the cashier too.

  5. No thats your money.

  6. Yes, always tip.  Those people make next to nothing.

  7. If you feel guilty then give them a tip.

  8. I don't really think there is a reason to tip when you are getting food to go, but then some people like to be nice and leave tips anyway.  It's always appreciated, but there really isn't any need to, since the people who get the tips probably make more than the servers.

  9. It depends. On a busy night you should tip, just bc it takes time away from te restaurant... even though your a take out, your still treated like another table. And definately tip them if you have high maintenance problems (ie. sub this for that, hold that, can i get this instead?) those kind of things take time to special order in the computer and take extra time for the cooks and the person who took the take out order to put together.

  10. no!!!!!

  11. No, no tipable service has been provided.

  12. Usually if it's a place with servers that you would tip had you sat down for dinner, I would recommend tipping.  Many times you will have a server working the "To-Go" Counter for a portion of their shift who is putting in your order, bagging it and preparing it for pick up.  They ring you up and take care of any other items you might need.  It's good courtesy to give them a small tip for their efforts - you may not need to tip as much as you would when you have a fantastic server during a sit down meal, but usually one or two bucks would be good particularly if they got your order right, were helpful and courteous.

  13. pay a tip to who the cashier only if you feel like making someones day or making them look suspicious by putting by your tip in there pocket while at the register only tip on a pickup order when there is a tip jar

  14. I depends.  If the bartender or waiter did alot for you like give you advice on some dishes or serve you a couple of rounds of drinks, then yes would be appropiate to give them a few dollars. However, if all they did is take your order and bring you your food, no. They wouldn't be any different then going into Mc Donald's or KFC.

  15. no only when served by a server and you like the service

  16. I always do because the person still has to box and bag your food for you. I waitressed for years and to go orders were actually more time consuming then dining in orders.

  17. Yes. I work there. GIVE ME MONEY!

  18. Yes! I was a server in quite a few restaurants and part of our duties was to bag up to-go orders. Someone took the time for your convenience, thank them with a tip. Two or three dollars is nice.

  19. I always give them a buck or two for saving me a trip inside.

  20. yes after all they did get your order ready and had it waiting for you

  21. I usually don't.  But I used to work at a restuarant where people did.  I never understood it because I worked at the front desk, all I did was take their money.  I usually felt bad keeping it and would give it to the waiter who prepared the togo order.

  22. YES!!!

as take out servers we do ALOT of work for your take out food

we have to answer the hundreds of take out calls on the phone, put in the orders, box your food, make sure the order is correct with all components to the order(sides etc), take orders from walk ins, make sure you have all the condiments, heckle the cooks to make your food so it's out on time(dine in food gets priority) and bring your food to you, especially if you get car side service

customers who dont tip get less attention paid to their orders by alot of the take out staff to make up the time it takes to make sure everything is amazing for those who tipped us

i do take out and serving, take out is more detail oriented and alot more work than serving and we get paid the same hourly(min wage) so my lively hood(tuition books rent etc) depends on my tips from the night

  23. No, they have just passed your food along as if it were McDonalds.  If they delivered maybe 10% but not for drive up.
