Should one pull over after running over a muskrat?

I have a friend, a good friend, but not me (seriously, it wasn't me, I WOULD have stopped, but I didn't run over a muskrat, that would be mean) who may have run over a muskrat, like the hypothetical one I was referring to. Should he have stopped?

Only if the road was safe to do so.  Unfortunately, if this was done on a busy highway, you may have to just cross your fingers and hope it died.  With an animal that small, it probably died on impact anyway... if that makes you feel any better.

Yuck.  I probably would have pulled over to see if it was dead.  If not, I would have called animal control to come out and put it out of its misery.   I think when you run over an animal in the road, they can be very dangerous if they are still alive and in pain.
