  1. Not neccassarly. Bharath came after king Bharatha.

India/Indus/hindustan came from Hindu Sanskara. Both holds its own importance. In Hindi we already use Bharath Sarkar. But in rest of the world, its known as India. Renaming a country is not so easy as renaming a city.

  2. Yes I agree with you.

The name India is given by Greek people.

It should be officialy changed to BHARATBARSHA.

  3. Much as I admire the sentiment on history, Bharatbarsha is too long ,has  too many syllables, the letters do not break down into nice word combinations, is harder to pronounce, and somewhat exotic to enunciate.

India fits into the simple word category, the letters when broken down does not make bad combinations,

I like the sound of Bhasha.  People from India will be called Bhashans. It sounds unique and easy to say. The passionate Bashans.

  4. It is good idea.  We should call India as Bharathdesh. or Bharathvarsh  . How far this sentiment will work will be any body's guess.

  5. ya of course, India is not the name given by us, it is called by Europeans the pronounced Hindu as a Indu

  6. No india is fine

  7. India is just fine. Koi jarurat nahi hai, naam badalneki, samjha bidu?

  8. sure i love it!!! atulya bharat - incredible india!!

  9. Actually, I believe that India should be what people call our country out of it. However, in our country, it should be called Bharat. Outside of India, though, people should just call it India. Some (most) people can't pronounce Bharat correctly, so India keeps things simple for them. The Chinese people call their country Zhōngguó, which is much different than China. If they can live with it, I think us, Indians, can, too.

  10. Bharat suits it most......

    CHAK DE BHARAT!!!!

  11. Yes, it is only right:

Some historic names may be selected from:

    a.__Bharat

    b.__Bharatvarsh

    c.__Mahabharat

  12. Dear Bharatiya...

with due respect to your sentiments and emotions.. india is already called Bharat and that too officially.  The native official name of India is Bharat as any Indian postage stamp will tell you.

As for changing the name... what did Mumbai, Chennai and bangaluru achieve after changing their names except momentary confusion... India is a wonderful name... and rather then selling a new name we will be better off to promote India's social, scientific and technological achievements to the world...

Japan never tried to rename itself to Nippon...  But you know how the world sees her and how Japanese created that place for them.

  13. If you can change poor peoples life you can change to bhartwarsh or what ever you like, but when you can not bring ,honesty and you can not get rid of poverty it will make no difference my friends.

  14. India is fine. The rest of the world would not be able to pronounce Bharat, Bharatvarsha etc.

  15. yup india is like a open book to read it
