  1. The Russian Federation did enter into the Shanghai Cooperative Organization (SCO) with China and a few of the former Soviet Central Asian Republics with the objective of fighting against the Islamist hirabah (terrorists). So, the Russian Federation could call on those former SSRs to help out in Chechnya, but I don't think they will. That's because of the Russian view of the Chechen separatists being "Cherrno Zhopye" (black asses) and in the same category that they see those people native to those former Central Asian SSRs. And I don't see the Russians inviting the Chinese to cross the Amur River and head west either to help.
