Should pearland texas evacuate in the case of a hurricane? ?

I know gustav isn't coming here I'm just wondering if it is that close enough to water

  1. Listen to the city officials when a hurricane is in the Gulf.  That's the best way to know what you need to do. Even though Pearland isn't at the water's edge, if the city is on the wet side of a storm, there will be flooding. The wind could still be dangerous, depending on the category of the storm. There might be a possibly that you would want to evacuate for some future storm. But it's important to listen to officials and follow their advice. They do not order an evacuation easily, so it's worth considering their advise.


  2. No need to ever evacuate in Pearland,Texas...It's 35 miles from the coast line, which is in the safe zone. Just wait till the water runs off and you will be fine.

    If there is a catagory 5,6, they will make you leave anyway.
