Should people demand more from their government?

It's not that we need to demand more, it's that we need to demand better focus.  Over the past decade, our government has become obsessed with partisan politics; the party's overriding concern is no longer what is best for the people, but what can gain them a slim edge over the other party.  Our government needs to put aside their own ambitions and once again start working for the common good.

I'd like to demand that they do LESS. Much, much less.

They must also return all tax money they've taken under the uncontitutional 16th amendment (Income Tax); and get their noses out of my life.

No people should first demand more from themselves,Government has no magic wand and usually ends up costing us a lot more whenever they are involved in anything.Also nothing good comes from freebies,only more hands out for more.

I think we should demand the government to stop wasteless spending like pork bills.  There is no need to pay for a statue in Georgia or a Bridge in Alaska they did not want.

As for Taxes, even the Bible talks about taxes.  We need to pay some taxes for protections, services, freedoms, etc.  But I think we need to change the current system and they need to stop taking so much of our money, thus no pork, we keep more.

Don't just vote.  Go visit and talk to these leaders.  Write and call.

No because then we will take care of ourselves even less than we currently do. We need to responsible citizens and stop living off of government aid, but it is not so easy to do so.

Personally. I want less government and more accountability for expenditures. The problem is that most politicians are lawyers...what does THAT say?. There is so much going on we have no clue about.

Those turds are supposed to be working for us, not themselves.

Term limits of no longer than 2 to 4 years would be a great place to start. Career politicians are the absolute worst. Another thing is constituents should have the absolute right to fire any of their representatives at any time, on a vote. It's called "at will" employment.
